Blame it on the Bodugi

Well I said it was over but it isn’t.

Bodugi have failed to pay the “winners” in either the final round at Newbury or any prizes for the overall competition which ended in November.

The HWPA apologises firstly to those who finished ‘in the money’ in the final round of the 2011 Tipping competition and have not received their prizes from Bodugi. Several promises of it ‘being sorted’ have not come to fruition. Secondly, their generous support of the competition for which we were grateful, has not been followed through to it’s conclusion, as not only have the final round winners been unable to collect their prizes but the overall winners have also not been paid out, which includes a £5000 prize to the competition winner.

Amongst other exasperating inefficiencies, from midsummer onwards Bodugi consistently failed to collect entry fees of £10 per round from contestants accounts despite constant reminders from the HWPA to do so thus leaving them a considerable sum of money short of the expected amount from which to pay prizes.

We will be discussing this at committee level very shortly before another request to Bodugi to pay the advertised prizes.

Again, the HWPA apologises to those who have enjoyed playing the tipping competition over the years and had a less than satisfactory experience in 2011. We very much hope to restore the competition to it’s former glories with an announcement in the next few weeks.

It’s over. After sixteen Rounds and nine Months we can at last announce that the 2011 HWPA Champion Tipster is…….

Round 16 of the HWPA tipping competition kindly sponsored by www.bodugi.com was the Hennessy Meeting at Newbury and first prize went the way of Nigel Burns.

The 3-day meeting at Newbury on the 24-26th November saw the end of this seemingly interminable nine month struggle. But round 16 was worth winning in its own right and with five scoring horses out of six on Saturday Nigel Burns beat the PA’s Chris Oliver to the £500 Christmas kitty. Find the full result and overall standings here http://www.hwpa.org/events/hwpa-2011-tipping-competition/.

Big thanks are due once again to everyone at www.bodugi.com for their generosity in supporting the competition from everyone at the HWPA
